The Faculty of Law houses the:
- Centre for Advanced Corporate and Insolvency Law;
- Centre for Child Law;
- Centre for Human Rights;
- Centre for Intellectual Property Law;
- Centre for Law and Medicine (in conjunction with the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Faculty of Health Sciences);
- Centre for Sports Law in Africa;
- Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa (ICLA);
- International Development Law Unit;
- Law Clinic; and
- Extractive Industries Law in Africa Programme(EILAF), the first of its kind on the continent.
The Faculty also has the:
- Adams & Adams Chair in Intellectual Property Law;
- Chair in Barclays Africa Banking Law in Africa;
- United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Chair in Education Law in Africa;
- South African Research Chairs Initiative in International Development and African Economic Relations; and
- South African Research Chairs Initiative in International Constitutional Law.
